At the Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC), we are committed to supporting you at every stage of your journey—from your first application through to graduation. This page provides the key information you need to register, prepare, and succeed in your training with us.

Registration

To register for a course, students must complete the Registration/Application form and submit the required supporting documents:

  • Aerodrome & Approach Control Diploma, Aeronautical Information Management, and Area Control Procedural Courses:
  •    Copy of a valid ID
  •    Copy of Passport
  •    Copies of relevant academic/professional qualifications

Acceptance letters

Students applying for diploma and certificate programmes will receive an official acceptance letter once their application has been processed. For all other courses, registration is considered complete once the form and payment have been submitted.

Payments

Details on fees and payment methods are provided on your invoice. All payments must be completed before the first day of class in order to secure your space.

Orientation

Every programme begins with an orientation designed to help you settle in, meet your instructors, and understand what is expected throughout your training. Orientation details will be communicated once you are officially registered.

Learning Platforms

Training at CATC blends both in-person and digital learning. Classes conducted online are hosted on Zoom, with links shared before the course begins. In addition, all students gain access to our Moodle e-learning platform, where course materials and resources are available. Your login credentials will be provided ahead of time, and you can access the portal at, https://catc.caa.gov.tt/.

Our Facilities

The Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC) offers state-of-the-art facilities designed to enhance your learning experience and provide a professional training environment.

Our facilities include:

    • The classrooms are fully air-conditioned, equipped with electrical outlets for personal devices, and designed to provide both comfort and focus. They can also be arranged in flexible layouts, to suit different training needs.
    • Computer-Based Classroom ideal for digital learning and assessments.

    • Advanced Air Traffic Control simulators featuring realistic panoramic views and weather simulation capabilities.

    • Projectors and multiple whiteboards in each classroom for interactive instruction.

    • Secure parking for students and visitors.

    • Zen garden and outdoor spaces providing a calm and relaxing environment for study breaks and reflection.

Our Instructors

Our instructors are highly experienced aviation professionals who combine industry expertise with practical teaching skills. They are committed to supporting each student’s learning journey, creating an engaging and approachable environment where questions are welcomed and curiosity is encouraged. By staying up-to-date with current industry standards, our instructors ensure that the knowledge and skills you gain are relevant, practical, and directly applicable to real-world aviation scenarios.

International students

Students attending in-person classes must apply for a student permit at least two weeks before the start of training. Information on how to apply is available through the Student Permit Online Services – Ministry of Homeland Security.

If accommodation is required during your stay in Trinidad and Tobago, our support team can share a list of recommended options. Please note that TTCAA does not manage or endorse these establishments, and students are free to make their own arrangements.
